Best d’Atlanta - 10.17.2008 (Bored Friday Edition)

[Our perception of where Kennesaw is located.]

  1. Wethinks putting an MLS team in Kennesaw is a less than brilliant idea.  We don’t see too many Cobb County license plates at the Brewhouse on Saturday/Sunday mornings.  Also, Atlanta’s many Hispanic soccer fans don’t want to have to worry about La Migra (aka Cobb County Police).  AJC with a puff piece.
  2. Saxvy Chambliss is a liar.  Wait, you already knew that.
  3. The people who brought us the outdoor version of Mall of Georgia Atlantic Station are proposing a MARTA spur to the Hapeville Ford plant.  Thought - shouldn’t we first focus on taking trains to places where people already live?
  4. Good news - Spamalot is coming to Atlanta.  Bad News - It’s coming to Cobb County.  Cable and Tweed.
  5. We gotta agree with Creative Loafing on this one.  Vote no on the Fulton County library bond.  We love books.  We collect books like madmen.  Ask Lady d’Urbain.  Unfortunately, this plan is poorly conceived and comes at a time when monies need to be dedicated to other areas.
  6. I guess the down market is even affecting the uber-expensive jean market.  Blue Genes is now carrying vintage jeans.  Disposable Income has the pertinent information.
  7. AJC commenters are idiots.  Nuff Said.
  8. The SAND Tour of Homes is this weekend.  Unfortunately, we are busy attending the Clayton County Tour of Hovels.
  9. What’s up Wardy (see: Cash Money Records circa 1999).  That massive park in the Old Fourth Ward has broken ground.
  10. Things Gwinnett County is famous for - traffic, xenophobia, good schools, being named after some dude named Button, and………………………..oh yeah, Mexican Drug Cartels.
