The Ragin’ Cajun Says Georgia is In Play

[Can you say bromance?]

Despite the fact that he will be rooting on the Bayou Bengals this weekend, James Carville is a personal hero of ours.  His firm Democracy Corps recently did some thorough analysis on the state of Georgia and has decided that the Republican brand is seriously tarnished.

Why is this?  We surmise it stems not only only from national Bush fatigue, but also from local factors such as:

  1. Sonny’s do nothing second term;
  2. Saxby’s unconditional support of the bailout;
  3. Damn near every time Glenn Richardson opens his mouth.

One particularly interesting tidbit states:

Despite Jim Martin’s lack of name recognition (55 percent name identification), he trails incumbent Senator Saxby Chambliss by just 4 points, 44 – 48 percent.

So, basically, all Jim Martin needs to do is tell people he exists to have a good shot at taking the Senate race.  Here is the full report.
